US mulls speed-limiting devices for buses and big rigs

The previous 5.0-liter Cummins V8 diesel engine option is gone for the refreshed pickup, but the 5.6-liter gasoline V8 does make more power. As with the standard Titan, power climbs to 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic shifts gears and takes over duty from a previous seven-speed unit -- also the same as the regular pickup.

At the heart of the Maximus is a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 from Dodge's Hellcat lineup. A stainless-steel exhaust will likely shout this car's credentials to the heavens and back. That's been given a Hennessey engine upgrade, pushing its output to 1,000 hp and 933 pound-feet of torque. It wields an eight-speed automatic transmission. Elsewhere, the Maximus has been given a new ECU, new wiring harnesses, a new radiator and a revised fuel system.

We'll start with the little guy. The updates aren't too major, because both trucks were given hefty refreshes recently, but both the 1500 and HD models do get some new tricks that buyers will undoubtedly enjoy.

The LED headlights get black bezels, and the interior is entirely black, too, but it can also be optioned in a two-tone getup with some red in there. There's also a new Ram Rebel Black Appearance Package. Available on -- you guessed it -- the Rebel trim, this adds 18-inch black wheels, a black paint job and more black paint on the front spoiler, skid plates, badges, tow hooks and exhaust.

tow trucks, seriously? The series' ten-episode run starts off in July. Speed Channel is pumping up the original content since it launched HD, and with the success of series like Ice Truckers and the recent premiere of the logger show Ax Men, we see where they're going with it, but... -text c-gray-1" >
Not that we usually expect to have a need for a tow truck driver, but the Speed Channel has surprised us with its new series Wrecked, focused on a company of tow truck drivers in a Chicago suburb.

Red recovery hooks offer a splash of color amid the dark palette. Standard Trail Boss gear applies here too, including the 2-inch factory suspension lift and the Z71 package with Rancho shocks. Those digging the blacked-out looks of the Chevy Silverado Midnight edition will find the dark elements extend to the grille, badging, bumpers and even the exhaust tips. The former comes with a six-speed automatic, while the latter provides a 10-speed transmission. Since this package is exclusive to the Custom Trail Boss and LT Trail Boss models, you can get either a 5.3-liter V8 or 6.2-liter V8.

2020 Ram 1500
Ram's light-duty pickup picks up a new Night Edition package. Available on Big Horn and Laramie trims, the Night Edition aims for a monochromatic appearance with a black grille, a black grille surround, black badges, black wheels and black exhaust tips. The headlights and taillights get darker bezels, too.

13283059_383e4db4eb_b.jpgThis isn't a list of the most significant products, or even our highest rated. Yet here we are, on the verge of the next decade, and it's time to reflect on the cars that impressed us most over the past 10 years. Instead, these are the ones that keep us up at night; the ones we think about when we close our eyes and daydream (not that we'd ever do such a thing during a workday).

Nick Miotke/Roadshow We test a lot of cars here at Roadshow. Over the course of a decade, that makes for a huge number of automobiles. From sub-$20,000 economy cars to million-dollar exotics, nearly every new vehicle you can buy comes through our collective garage at some point or another.
